The comprehensive plan for the campus takes into consideration sound academic and financial planning in order to establish standards for a cohesive, high quality campus environment and to be responsive to changing educational and financial needs. Framework plans were devised for program growth in housing, recreation and open space, pedestrian and vehicular networks, parking and utility systems. This framework was synthesized into long range land use and circulation plans, together with specific guidelines of the master plan, to be a guide when development projects are proposed and implemented. They specifically address pedestrian, vehicular and bicycle systems, planting, site furnishings (including signage), site lighting, site work, buildings and utilities, and are intended to ensure creation of a visually and functionally unified campus.
