In 1998 EP/A was asked to participate in a site search and to prepare a master plan for a 70 acre church/school campus in response to the area’s projected growth. This master plan included an interim church to seat 800, later to become a church hall, but without sacrificing a proper church atmosphere in the interim. Other elements of the master plan include a sanctuary seating 2,000; an administration building plus lower, middle and high school facilities with complimentary outdoor sports facilities; and a cemetery to accommodate 750 in-ground burial plots, 3,648 in-wall cremation urns and 832 raised horizontal cremation urns. The entire master plan is organized around a central, green, pedestrian mall that brings focus, discipline, and dignity to the future sanctuary and further focuses on the relationship between religion, education, and one’s destiny. The meaning and form the master plan has taken has been strongly endorsed and supported by the Parish, the Bishop, and the Diocese of Charleston.
